A Very Merry Viral Holiday

Ten days before Christmas, we at OTW agreed to help a local group in need of gifts for the holidays. Our goal was to find gifts for close to 100 teenage girls from Germaine Lawrence, a high-quality, residential treatment facility in Arlington, MA.

When we offered to take this on, we never really thought about the fact that we started the program so close to Christmas. We did know, however, that we could not come up short and only deliver Christmas gifts to some girls. While the economy stinks, we still had confidence that our viral network would take hold and be the answer.

Let’s Get Social

Last night my friend and I were grabbing a drink before heading to the movie “Milk” (which, by the way, if you can see it, you should.) We were in the Blue Room, a restaurant in Cambridge, and as we were leaving, I saw this happy, well-dressed woman near the front desk. “Can you validate our parking?” I asked her.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I don’t work here,” she nicely responded.

“Oh my God!” I said, feeling embarrassed, and then, in an effort to recover, “but you look so pulled together, so nice… I just figured you had to be the hostess.”

Then she filled me in. “I’m here to meet a guy.”
