It seems like it was longer, but it was only one year ago (Earth Day 2008) that Whole Foods Market was the first grocery store chain in the country to stop packing groceries in plastic bags and introduce the reusable bag concept.

In fact, when this concept was first initiated, I didn’t think much of it. I had purchased some of the bags because they were cute and colorful and only cost .99 each so I figured I could use them for lots of things.
